Tryout for Babe Ruth eligible players ages 13-14
All players ages 13-15 are eligible to play in the Babe Ruth Division. Typically, Babe Ruth is broken into 2 leagues, the Majors and AAA (last year the 2 divisions were called the American and National Leagues). 15 year olds are automatically drafted into the Majors. All other players (ages 13-14) were then selected during a pre-season draft. In a effort to more objectively determine eligibility for Majors all 13 and 14 year olds who want to be considered for the Majors Division, must attend a mandatory tryout.
Thus, If you are age 13 or 14 for the upcoming season and want to be considered for the Majors Division, you must attend a tryout on March 16 from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the All Stars Academy, 198 Troy Schenectady Rd, Latham, NY.
If you do not want to be considered for the Majors it is not necessary that you attend the tryout. All players ages 13-14 who do not attend the tryout will automatically be drafted into the AAA Division.
