22U Team Information

The Clifton Park Mudhens provide summer baseball for college students and others in the 22U age bracket. The Mudhens played their first season last year in the long established Eastern New York Travel Baseball League (ENYTB). The Mudhens finished with a strong record for a first year team competing at this level.

We intend to continue developing the program to become a consistent regional competitor playing at the collegiate baseball level. Interested new players and returning players will need to participate in tryouts planned for the weekend of May 15 and 16.

Post season play is possible through the NABC sanctioning body. ENYTB provides its member teams with sanctioned access to national and regional tournaments. ENYTB also hosts its own tournament for this age bracket at the end of the league season.

Players can expect evening and weekend games and some travel (most games are located within 60 miles of Clifton Park). Fees can be expected to be in the $220 to 250 range and will depend on the final number of games the league assigns and any post season tournaments in which the team chooses to compete. Playing time is on a competitive basis although it is the coaches intentions to give every player a significant amount of playing time.

David Alexander is the head coach of the Mudhens along with George Smith and Ryan Hazlett. You must contact Coach Alexander at
dalexander@airresourcesgroup.com in order to be registered to tryout for the Mudhens.

The ENYTB website is a useful resource for information regarding the league and 22U details.

Players should be aware that this is a wood bat league. We used Viper bats last year and only broke 2 or 3 in 30 games.

Importantly, we play for the love of the game but we play as hard as we can to win every game.
